Project Description
Imagine the feeling of living in an early wilderness settlement in the Black Hills of South Dakota. That’s the feeling you get with this split-level home that has a stunning view from a mountain top near Buffalo Gap. We’ve used South Dakota materials to make the massive rock foundation along with the magnificent rock wall fireplace. The roof and wall system are constructed of large rough sawn lumber from Washington. This all wood home has reverse board and batten walls, with tongue and groove vaulted ceilings that give this beautiful home an open spacious feeling. Each of the two elevated bedrooms have their own personal touches with a walk in closet, deck and their own bathroom. The tile in each bath has its own unique style. The 1”x8” pine floors of the house and porch resemble pioneer construction with square head horseshoe nail fasteners. The living room opens onto an exclusive 600 sq. ft. stamped concrete outdoor picnic/spa area. The board and batten siding, and Corten steel roof blend the exterior of the home with the surrounding hills. The homes of Tatanka are built keeping the impact to the environment first.
